Book Citations

When you use a book from the library, do a title keyword search in the library catalog, access the record, and then click How do I Cite this? (circled in the image below). Select the correct citation style (APA) then copy/paste/edit the citation, as needed, in your Reference list.

For books that are not in the ORU Library:

Go to opens new windowWorldCat.org. Search the book title.
Click the title to access the detailed record.
Click Cite/Export (shown right). Click a citation style, then copy/paste/edit the citation, as needed.

Article Citations (EBSCO folder)

Most databases have a citation tool that provides a citation in a variety of styles. Most often, the citation will need to be edited to match the proper format and/or your course requirements.

For a single citation in an EBSCO database, such as opens new windowCommunication Source or opens new windowAcademic Search Complete, click the article title to access the detailed record. Click the "cite" button in the right toolbar (shown circled below)then choose a citation style. Copy, paste, and edit the citation to match the course style requirements. (The "Tools" menu is only available on the detailed record; it is not on the results page.)

Create a folder then sign in to your folder.
Note: Items added to the default folder are NOT saved.

For multiple citations use the EBSCO folder, which is a personal information management tool to save articles, save searches, create citations, write notes, and more.

Click the Sign In or Folder links in an EBSCO database, then sign in to your folder.

  1. After you add the articles to your personal folder, click Folder has items at the top of the page.
    In the folder:Click checkboxes to mark items to be cited.
  2. Click the Print icon (in the right toolbar).
    In the Print Manager window:
  3. Uncheck HTML Full Textbox and/or Search History, if showing and checked.
  4. Choose a Citation Format.
  5. Click Print (items are reformatted for printing). Save or copy/paste/edit the citations.
