Society of Biblical Literature Style Manual

The Society of Biblical Literature, or SBL, documentation style is recommended for use by the Undergraduate Theology department.

SBL style is used by those who write or publish in the disciplines of ancient Near Eastern studies, Biblical studies, and studies of early Christianity. The SBL Handbook includes extensive abbreviations lists, archeological site names, guidelines for transliterating ancient languages, and examples for citing print and electronic sources.
