undefinedJudith Rigsby, who served in the ORU Library for nearly four decades passed away on May 11.

She joined the library staff in 1983 and managed several functions over the years, including Circulation, Book Mending, and Acquisitions, and served as the library’s first Webmaster.

She earned a Master’s in Library Science in 1994. She was a member of the Association of Christian Librarians for many years, and often attended ACL conferences.

Judith contributed to the ORU Library in many ways: building the library collection, introducing early handheld e-readers for e-books and blazing other trails for new technologies and media, including online e-books and online databases. Those new ways of hosting and delivering academic information have matured and continue to benefit innumerable students.

Beyond her contributions to the Library’s work, she injected creativity and joy into its life: Judith had a knack for planning birthday parties and other library celebrations. She tailored every detail – from the décor to the food – to the person being recognized.

Her library colleagues will always remember and appreciate her friendship and her contribution to ORU.

Judith’s obituary is available at https://www.chapman-black.com/obituaries/Judith-Kay-Rigsby?obId=13111219
