Change to APA citation rules for scripture references

The College of Business will now observe the guidelines for citing Bible verses according to APA 6th edition rather than APA 7th edition.

According to the 6th edition, an entry on the reference list is not required for Bible verses quoted or paraphrased. Instead, place an in-text citation after the quotation or paraphrase, indicating on the first reference the version or translation used. Examples are below.

Throughout his long career, Mr. Brown has exemplified the admonishment of St. Paul to do everything as though working for God (Colossians 3:23, NIV). He often reminded his employees  "dishonest money dwindles away" (Proverbs 13:11).

The team faced their daunting task encouraged by the words of Jesus: "with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26, NKJV).

The APA citation guide has been updated to reflect this change.
